On popular request

Okay. I've been slack at updating this. I assure you I will be online more often from here on in. For those who have spoken with me over the last week (yes I've been here a whole week!!) you know it's been a rather tough week. But I think the light is here. Slowly and ever so surely. To those who have offered support and endured my tears down the line. Thank you. So so much.

I'm not going to try and fill in the juicy bits of the last week, so the selected highlights are all I have time for right at this point in time.

The flight was quite good. It seemed longer than I expected, but I managed to get some sleep and enjoy the fabulously packaged but tasty food! I even managed to pilfer a gorgeous blanket as per the advice of sordid friends. I think that will come in super-duper handy! Flying over Dubai was simply breathtaking in it's total difference to home... as was flying over the terrain of Iran and Turkey. I couldn't even imagine it would look so totally different to home.

Gladly Anne-Marie (Katie's mum) was at Heathrow with arms open filled with hugs and tears to see me. I was wrapped after the anxiety of the flight. Although, flying into London was so clear and beautiful and like a scenic tour given by my fellow passener in adjacent seat who was English.

In the first week I have seen:

Wimbledon
Oxford: AMAZING university city. How a whole village can be made of university and museums and galleries. It was all cobbled streets, and English pubs with studious students attending to tutorial readings. I had a great look around here.
London city: Westminster, Thames, Imperial War Museum, Picadilly, Trafalgar Square... main sites.
Cambridge: AMAZING x2. So beautiful. With a river in the middle and punting. Oh. My. Goodness. To be an academic there would be a dream. So historic but so lively. #
SoHo: like kings cross.
West End: I saw Cabaret. It was fantastic. And small. But invigorating. And nude!

oooh. Internet cafe is closing. Damn.
Sidebar (I'm in the back of a post office and they sell imported beers here! I could type and have beer! It's sold in drink fridges like regular soft drinks!)

Til tomorrow my lovelies. Please perservere. I will keep updating more.

xx
